Managing Email Spam
Follow the steps below to manage spam email in your hosting account through CPanel:
Login to your CPanel (You would have received you login details when signing up).
Navigate to 'Spam Filters'
3. Change your settings below as required:
Setting | Behaviour |
---|---|
Process New Emails and Mark them as Spam: | Enable this setting to enable the assassin spam module on your account. |
Move New Spam to a Separate Folder (Spam Box): | When this option is enabled, all spam that meet the Spam Threshold Score will be moved to a separate folder on the server and will not be delivered to your email client. |
Automatically Delete New Spam (Auto-Delete): | When this option is enabled, all spam that meet the Spam Threshold Score will be auto-deleted from your account. This cannot be undone and is not recommended for newly enabled spam management. |
Should you continue to receive emails that are regarded as spam you can amend the 'Spam Threshold' using the values below:
Score |
|
---|---|
1 | Aggressive - Many false positives |
4 | Recommended for well tested accounts and servers (Only choose this option if you have used Spam Assassins extensively on your account) |
5 | Semi-aggressive (Default setting) |
8 | Less aggressive with some spam filtering |
10 | Passive - Only very obvious spam |
