Edit Routing - Extension number
Follow this guide to edit the routing for an existing extension number. This is useful for:
Assigning an extension number to a different user.
Routing an extension number to a group of users (Call Group).
Routing an extension number to a voicemail (email).
Changing the extension number.
Updating the Extension Number
Navigate to Settings:
Click on Numbers and Click on an existing extension number:
The below options can be edited when modifying the extension number:

1 | Prefix | This is the Branches that are available on your account(See Creating Branches ).
You can have the same 3 digit extension number (E.g. 101) created in multiple branches. You can then use the Branch prefix to dial the different extensions. 10101 (UK) and 20101 (US) respectively. |
2 | Extension Number | The 3 Digit extension number E.g. 101
The number 999 is reserved for checking voicemail messages. |
3 | Route Type | This is where the extension number should be routed to: User: Routes calls to this extension number to the selected user. Voicemail: Routes calls to this extension number to a Voicemail box of a specific user. Call Group: Routes calls to this extension number to a Call Group (TO DO LINK) Call Parking: Routes calls to this extension number to a Call Park (TO DO LINK) |
4 | Route Name | Depending on the selection made in Route Type above, you will have to select the route name you would like the call routed to. Example: If you selected User, you will be presented with a list of users for selection. |
Click OK to update the extension number. The updated extension number will now be updated in the list.
Note: You only have to enter the 3 Digit extension number. The branch prefix will be added to the number automatically. The number can be dialed using the 3 Digit (112) or 5 Digit (10112) extension number.
